Sorry for not updating sooner. Too much going on here. Anyway, the doctor was OK. I mean she was nice, calm and friendly but didn´t even look at me, as in poke around! I think she trusts me too much. She kept saying that I was an experienced pregnant lady. I think she trusts me more than I do. Maybe that is a good thing and I need to trust myself LOL. I did let her know that I am a relaxed and not at all the panicky type just so she knows if and when I call her cell it’s because I NEED her. So what can I say... I miss my regular OB you know? It’s not only because she is one brilliant professional but we bonded and somehow created a friendship. She knows us, she knows Zé and she trusts Zé´s instinct and listens to what he says - they get along fine and that is just as important to me.
So next appointment we will have an ultra sound and see the baby - maybe he is head down. Don´t feel like waiting until the last minute like I had with Kiko who decided to only turn until the day before the birth. I am still not comfortable with this situation because its new but I hope I will get used to it and follow through. I don´t need added stress in my life and there certainly are much worse things out there.

New Doctor Tommorow
Tomorrow I will meet a new Doctor, a new OB. She´s called Patricia so she´s bound to be brilliant! For those of you who don´t know, my usual OB is taking a 3 month holiday so obviously won´t be here for the remainder of neither my pregnancy nor the birth. I always feel so safe knowing she´s with me so this was a shocker to me but I have hope and I am convinced (or need to do so) that I will also love the new OB. I need to prepare a list of questions for here so that’s my project for this evening. My main question will be if she will take a holiday during the month of August - just my luck!
António is much better. The ones he had in his tongue and mouth are still bothering him but he actually ate a proper meal tonight. I think (from what I have read around) today is the day the spots start to dry and no more new spots. The kids call them popcorn or "Pipocas". This week we will find out if Kiko and I caught it! He will still be off school at least until Thursday but probably all week.
So wish me good luck for tomorrow - I am a little nervous. Will update as soon as I get back.

OUR ANNIVERSARY - IS it 9 or 10 Years?
Yesterday was 9 years since we celebrated our wedding day with our family and friends - or should I say, 9 years ago we had a beautiful party and exchanged wedding rings. 10 years ago yesterday was when we truly made a commitment to each other and decided to live together and started sharing our lives and love. So for me, yesterday was the day we celebrated 10 years together, 10 years commited to each other. For some we celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary. So which is it? Not that it realy matters but every year I have the same dilema!

CHICKEN POX
Yes... it is here in Casa da Laje - my house! António has it. It started yesterday with two watery spots. This morning he has about 10-15 one of which is inside his bum and another on his willy. He is not happy about this. All in all he is doing fine and today he has no fever. He is enjoying his time spend at home with all eyes focused on him. I guess children need to be home sick every now and then so they can get to have all the cudling and love to themselves. So now we wait and see how far this goes and next week we will know if Sebastião has it and we will also find out if I have it!
HOW LUCKY CAN ONE BE?

SNOT...SNOT...and more SNOT...
There are certain things I used to think were unthinkable. Snot, poos and walking out the house with drewl was something that I never thought would be part of my daily life. Well there you go, it is and will be for years to come. So can something Gross be cute at the same time??? Judge for yourselves!

Can you predict your child’s future?!
For instance, I think Antonio will grow into a caring but distant young man. He has a heart of gold and is the emotional type but he will be more the sort of person who will sit back and observe. I don’t think he will be very social but he will be the best friend anyone can have. I can picture him with long lasting friendships. I also see him as the intellectual type (lack of a better word). I mean… he reads the fricken paper! He will study and be brilliant at some subjects. I think the academic part of his future will bring him no worries. As for his heart goes… oh boy! He will devote himself to his love and probably will be hurt over and over again. He is so pure and so innocent and I can picture the “bad” girls just treading on his feet.
As for Sebastião – He will be a hands full! The ladies will love him and he will be in total control of his love life. He is the sporty type… probably soccer, basket and swimming or somewhere along those lines. I think he won’t like the academic part unless you count the outdoor activities! I can picture myself shouting at the top of my lungs for him to go and study. He will survive his school years making use of his charming ways. Teachers will fall in love with him just because that is his way! I picture him like his uncles Pedro and Francisco but I aim for more responsibility LOL! He will be totally dependent on his family – he already is. His favourite days are the ones he spends with his brother and parents, no matter where we are or go.So for all you mums of girls… please think of these innocent boys who are bound to end up under their nets! Please let them know that one day they might end up with me (or someone like me) as their mother in law (evil laugh). My boys are growing up learning that daddy’s cook and clean, that daddy’s can be as much involved in their daily activities as mummies and that daddy’s can takeover the family household for as long as it takes. We are doing our part, can you all please do the girl part!

Slowing my pace...
I have been working on my own in the shop for the last two weeks. Rosária is enjoying her last holidays of the year. This way, I can be more relaxed about going to the shop (or not) on a daily basis. Fortunately the shop has been incredibly busy these past weeks which is obviously a plus financially but has "killed" me physically.
So, last night I had a scare...
After feeling abdominal pain and some strange contractions I called my doctor. No more long days in the shop. So its part time for me now. Baby is doing fine and today I feel much better. I was more worried about being on bed rest than the baby itself LOL!
Guess I´ll have more time to blog!

Why is it that we always have a ton of things to write about our first borns and struggle to find something to share about the second child ?(and so on, I should guess). Is it because its purely the first born syndrome or is it because they are always the first to say and do something?
Tonight was the 2nd night (shame on me) I read a story to Sebastião. Well, not realy a story, we read fot the 2nd time a picture book. I feel as if I am depriving him of brain stimulation so I will keep doing this until he knows the whole book by heart! I must say we have a loooong way to go. Animals are either dog, cats or ducks and most of them go quack, quack. All two wheel veicules are motorbikes and four wheels are cars.
A Desilusão do António
(Sorry... this just doesn´t translate!)
A tribute to the men I love!
I should dedicate this blog to the first man I ever loved. He has moved to England and because of him this is a tribute and one of the reasons why I created this blog. Through my words, he can read and see with his own eyes what has become of his genes!
Pedro (probably my second love - even though I find it hard to believe LOL!) is always travelling and I am sure I got to see him more when he was living in Canada - this is for you too... Francisco will be soon living in Finland and I do think he needs to practice his English so he can start here.
Thomas and Daniel will join Pai in England this summer and I am sure (as proud uncles that they are) they will love to read the hectic life of big (for now) but not old sister!
For my sons because I know that one day they will love to read back, no matter how embarrassing, the good, the bad and the ugly they created.
However this blog is dedicated to José, not only because he is the one who puts up with me 24/7 but specially because he is the man I chose to love, the one who helped me create the family I have always dreamed of and has been there for me for the good, the bad and the ugly. "De mim para ti com todo o meu amor".
